Fun
and Fitness for all
Tae Kwon-Do can help you develop your personal fitness and confidence,
it has already proven to be very popular with men, women and children
all over Devon. The TAGB (Tae Kwon-Do Association of Great Britain)
is probably the largest martial arts organisation in Europe and the
most successful Tae Kwon-Do association. The reason for this success
is that the Korean Martial Art has something to offer everyone, small,
tall, fat, slim, adult, child, male or female. The association offers
regular seminars and a summer and winter training camp for the super
keen students.
For Men
Men can develop personal fitness and flexibility as well as self defence
techniques in a fun and friendly atmosphere. Regular gradings ensure
progress which can be measured, as well as the opportunity to compete
in tournaments giving a real sense of achievement. The tournaments have
three elements which are:
the sparring
(fighting)
patterns
destruction so
there is something for everyone
For Women
Women can have all the above and more. Peter's style of teaching Tae
Kwon-Do offers a non threatening martial art which women can really
excel at. The training offers women the opportunity to develop, tone
and shape their bodies with both strength and aerobic training at a
level to suit them. For those who feel apprehensive about training with
males, Peter offers the chance to train with female assistant instructors
to combine self defence with traditional Tae Kwon-Do techniques to give
you a good all over body workout with fitness training aimed at your
level of fitness. This was a result of the success of the self defence
courses that Peter ran for the Dawlish Leisure Centre.

Tigers, Tae Kwon-Do for Children Top
Peter offers specialist classes for children as young as 3 years old
with the aim of developing self confidence, courtesy and discipline
as well as fitness. Traditional Tae Kwon-Do is combined with games to
keep even the youngest children motivated. Peter has been vetted by
the police and social services through Broadmeadow Sports Centre to
teach young children and has FitClub training in addition to the support
training offered by the TAGB. Peter also runs after school clubs and
teaches self defence as part of the curriculum at Knowles Hill School,
Newton Abbot, Teign School, Kingsteignton & TCC, Teignmouth.
Can
Tae Kwon-Do help kids?
You betcha! Studies
show that martial arts classes are perfect for developing character,
adjusting attitudes and motivating children to be their very best. Plus,
it gives children the leadership skills they need to avoid peer pressures
and succeed in today's world.
So if your
son or daughter:
1.
Doesn't stick with things.
2. Has a short attention span.
3. Has a hot temper.
4. Lacks confidence.
5. Needs positive role models.
Then send your
child to us. We specialise in helping children fulfil their potential.
Our
Instructors Top
Classes are run by a qualified professional instructor usually with
the support of an assistant instructor. Peter has been teaching for
over 10 years and has been a fully qualified, full time professional
instructor since 1995. He has had a full check by the "Criminal
Records Bureau" and is first aid trained. During this time he has
trained numerous black belts with a few going on to be fully qualified
instructors and others qualified as assistant instructors. This ensures
that even with a large number of students they are able to offer a higher
standard and more individual instruction.
Not content with standing still,
Peter regularly attends courses to improve his skills and repertoire
of activities on offer for adults and children, keeping classes interesting,
exciting and a challenge. In Tae Kwon-Do, Peter continues to train with
Master Michael Dew 7th Dan, to maintain his high standards and to pass
on knowledge as up to date as possible.
Top
Peter encourages his students to train as hard as they can to the best
of their ability, which has generated successes for them both at examinations
and competitions. In addition to students passing black belt gradings,
which is a challenge in itself, Peter's students have won and are still
winning medals at sparring, patterns and destruction, too numerous to
mention. Students as young as five years old have won medals at regional
and national tournaments and students in their 40s and 50s are winning
destruction awards. Peter still competes regularly to encourage his
students even further.
